Select Without media. The text export includes media placeholders where WhatsApp provides them; actual photos and videos are not needed for analysis.
On iPhone
- Open WhatsApp and select your group or 1-to-1 conversation.
- Tap the group or contact’s name at the top.
- Scroll to Export Chat (the wording may vary).
- Choose Without Media.
- Save the TXT or ZIP to Files, then return to Chat Awards and upload it.
On Android
- Open the chat in WhatsApp.
- Tap the three-dot menu, then More → Export chat (menu placement may vary).
- Choose Without media.
- Save the export locally, then upload the TXT or ZIP file here.
CSV exports
CSV is also accepted if it has columns for date (or timestamp), sender (or name), and message (or text). For example:

Having trouble?
- Use TXT rather than ZIP if your browser cannot open the compressed file.
- Try switching the date-format selector (day/month vs month/day).
- Ensure at least two messages contain valid sender names and timestamps.
- For 1-to-1 mode, exactly two participants must appear in the export.
- Maximum upload size: 20 MB.
